September Highlights at Court House Care Home

It has been a wonderful and busy month here at Court House Care Home, full of celebrations, fundraising, and community spirit. From anniversaries and outings to cake sales and crafts, our residents have certainly kept active and engaged throughout September.

A Sweet Success for Macmillan

On 25th September, we hosted a cake sale in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Our front car park was transformed into a hub of delicious treats, laughter, and generosity as visitors joined us to enjoy homemade bakes and raise money for this important cause.

Thanks to the kindness of everyone who donated, baked, or bought a slice of cake, we are delighted to share that we raised an incredible £140. Every penny goes towards the vital work Macmillan does for people affected by cancer.

A Milestone Celebration

Earlier in the month, on 16th September, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating a very special occasion, the 53rd wedding anniversary of our residents, Mr. and Mrs. Weston. The day was filled with joy as a singer performed, music filled the home, and everyone joined in a lively sing-song. It was a day of love, laughter, and togetherness, and we were honoured to share in such a beautiful milestone.

Everyday Joys

Life at Court House is never short of creativity and fun. This month our residents enjoyed crafts and games over the weekend, as well as a lively fruit tasting and quiz, which sparked plenty of conversation and smiles. These small moments of joy are at the heart of daily life in our home, helping residents stay active, social, and engaged.

Standing with Alzheimer’s Awareness

September is also Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, and here at Court House we continue to show our support. For us, supporting those living with Alzheimer’s means slowing down, cherishing the small moments, and ensuring every individual feels valued and never alone.

Looking Ahead

From coffee mornings to milestone anniversaries, this past month has reminded us of the importance of community, compassion, and connection. We’re excited to see what the next season brings and look forward to more opportunities to create meaningful memories together.
